Polish Breeds

Other of the better known all purpose European Breeds are the Polish Poznan and Mazuren (originally Trakehner), and the Polish Arabs which are very carefully bred and are much in demand, the Dutch Friesian and Gelderland, the Danish Frederiksborg, and the Russian Budjonny.

The settlers in the eastern colonies of America imported most of their horses from England, and under the different conditions and by selective and cross-breeding of these, combined at times with some Mustang blood, they gradually evolved the many distinctive American breeds of today.
